Anti-wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections start working between 4-7 days with full effectiveness from 14 days.

Usually anti-wrinkle treatments last from anywhere between 3-4 months. There are varying factors that can affect the longevity of anti-wrinkle treatments. These may include; dosage, hormones, medication, illness, exercise & metabolism.

Anti-wrinkle Treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes depending on the areas that are being treated and whether you are a new patient or not.

Everyone’s perception of pain is different. The procedure involves using fine needles to inject the anti-wrinkle medication. We can provide patients with Ice for the area or numbing cream.

We all age differently. Many people will benefit from commencing anti-wrinkle injections from their late 20s to prevent any wrinkles or lines from becoming very deep.

At Peninsula Aesthetics we charge per area that needs injecting such as a frown or forehead. There are various types of Anti-Wrinkles on the market and whilst you may need 20 units for one type of anti-wrinkle that costs $10 per unit you may need 40 of a different type that is only $5 a unit but you need double so it works out the same price. This is why we charge per area.

Side effects if any are usually minimal. Occasionally, headache, slight swelling, bruising at the injection site. A risk of the procedure can be where an adjacent muscle maybe weakened for several weeks after an injection, which may cause a temporary drooping of the eyelid or an eyebrow. This could last 2-3 weeks.

After anti-wrinkle injections do not rub the area post treatment, please remain upright for 4 hours, avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours post treatment, avoid massage, saunas, Turkish baths and laser treatments for 2 weeks.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are aesthetic gel-based treatment injected into the skin. They are made from hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance that delivers volume to the skin.

dermal filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 18months.

We recommended anywhere approximately at the 12-month mark. 

At Peninsula Aesthetics we offer the following areas to be injected with dermal filler:

  • Lips
  • Marionette Lines
  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Jaw Line
  • Nasolabial Folds
  • Smokers Lines

The amount of dermal filler that is required for each area and person varies substantially. You will need to book a consultation for a full facial assessment to see how much is required. For an approximate guide, Lip enhancements are usually 0.5 ml to 1 ml, Cheeks are 1-2 ml, marionette lines 1 ml, Jaw line & Chin can be 2-4 mls, and Nasolabial folds are 1ml-2ml.

Many people ask whether they will look fake. At Peninsula Aesthetics our aim is to make people look natural and enhance their natural beauty. 

At Peninsula Aesthetics we use a local anesthetic to numb the area. Dermal fillers additionally have lignocaine a medication used to numb tissue in a specific area. 

Lumps are can occur with dermal filler. Whilst we do give a massage to reduce lumps from occurring this can happen after having dermal fillers. Usually this will be resolved by approximately the 4-week mark as the filler has integrated into the tissue.

Dermal filler takes affect immediately. You will see the best results at the 2-4 week mark.

Do not apply make up to the area for 12 hours after the injection, avoid prolonged UV exposure, avoid freezing temperatures or saunas. Avoid massage or putting pressure on the injection site for a few days following treatment.
